The Senior Manager, Global Communications leads owned events and internal communications for Walmart Global Tech and the AI Acceleration, Product and Design organizations. From proactively guiding the development and production of high-impact events to providing counsel on key communication objectives - this communications professional is a critical partner in bringing our people-led, tech-powered story to life. Skills critical for success include exceptional judgement, proactivity, organization, accountability, smart brevity and creative thinking. Working closely with our partners across various teams including Global Communications, Walmart Global Tech, AI Acceleration, Product and Design, People, and the businesses, this role's top priority is engaging key stakeholders with unforgettable stories that inform and inspire the next retail disruption.

  • Own end-to-end execution for an annual roster of owned events
  • Create and drive event planning timelines inclusive of kick-off meetings, briefings with internal stakeholders, and creative briefings - ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Cultivate key relationships for crucial collaboration - aligning multiple different stakeholders around the vision for each event
  • Create post-event follow ups and surveys to measure and document success
  • Develop and execute internal communications
  • Advise senior leaders on messaging and communication strategy
  • Drive continuous improvement by integrating industry best practices and innovation
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication and event initiatives through metrics and feedback
  • Collaborate with and support a high-performing communications team
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field and 4 years' experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area OR 6 years' experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area
  • 1 year's supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Politics, journalism, or relevant area
