This role is part of the Ambient Engineering team and reports to the Director, Automation Engineering. The role is based in New Braunfels, TX, and is expected to travel up to 25% of the time.

Nice To Haves

• Solid engineering talent with excitement for building new approaches to solving automation problems.
• Technical background in Controls Automation, including Robotics, AR, and VR.
• 5+ years of Engineering, construction, and/or automation design and/or implementation experience.
• Experience in Supply Chain fulfillment or distribution ASRS systems.

Responsibilities

• Process Flow Design: interpret information to quantify the anticipated outcome of supply chain decisions, including managing suppliers and understanding inbound and outbound logistics.
• Operational Excellence: explain operational functions and key functional roles, clarify the role of each department, and describe the interdependence of support functions.
• Engineering Economics: describe concepts behind engineering economics, understand cost drivers, and explain how financial data is assessed and used in engineering.
• Project Management: plan and estimate simple projects under guidance, produce standard project status reports, and assist in detailed project plans.
• Vendor Management: manage site installation, project budgets, ensure site safety standards, and manage schedules to achieve milestones.
• Continuous Improvement: define critical workflows, identify process problems, and implement Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Automation System Design: promote automation machinery usage, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and monitor actual versus planned outcomes.
• Automation Integration: combine knowledge of automation/system design to resolve integration issues and propose alternatives.
• Mechatronics: create views of objects in 2D and 3D, participate in projects modifying existing electrical systems, and design, test, implement, monitor, and repair mechanical components.
• Data and Digital Literacy: leverage data analysis tools to explore data, develop hypotheses, and use data to influence strategic work.
• Advanced Analytics: apply data analysis and modeling techniques to maintain data structures and apply computing languages in machine learning.
