About The Position

Walmart is a people-led, tech-powered company, and we're seeking an experienced communicator to lead storytelling for the innovations we build for our customers, members, and partners. As a senior leader within our communications team supporting both Walmart Global Tech and our AI Acceleration, Product, and Design organizations you will develop and lead 360° communications strategies spanning executive, internal, external, and digital channels. You will serve as a strategic counselor to leaders, a steward of Walmart's reputation as a technology innovator, and a catalyst for stories that showcase the scale, impact and value of our tech and product teams. You will counsel leaders, connect dots across all our business segments to amplify breakthrough stories, and inspire both associates and external audiences while protecting and enhancing Walmart's reputation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or related field and 6 years' experience in journalism, communications, or relevant area OR 8 years' experience in journalism, communications, or relevant area.
• 2 years' supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

• Direct media experience.
• Government or media relations experience in a Fortune 500 company.
• Managerial experience running media components of political election or grassroots advocacy campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Creating a bold strategy for cohesive storytelling, utilizing owned and earned channels, to reach internal and external audiences and reinforce the role of tech and product in powering enterprise-wide transformation.
• Partnering with business leaders, the extended communications team and stakeholders to source compelling stories and content that highlight innovation for customers, members, and partners, and ensuring consistent, aligned communication across the enterprise.
• Communicating with brevity and purpose, making complex topics simple and easy to understand, regardless of format.
• Modernizing the way we communicate, constantly testing new ways to make an impact.
• Leading and developing a team of communications professionals, fostering a high-performing, innovative culture.
