About The Position

The Senior Release Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, coordination, and successful delivery of software releases across Santander Consumer applications. This role ensures adherence to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Release Management protocols, and compliance requirements. The Senior Release Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize release quality and provides evidence to internal and external auditors to confirm regulatory and process compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in Release Management and Project Management in a software delivery environment in Agile Framework.
  • Experience in ERP domain.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience as a Software Developer or Business Analyst (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of ITIL Change Management and SDLC frameworks (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of release and deployment best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional release cycles.
  • Proficient in source control tools, release automation, and environment management.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed release calendars, plans, and timelines for all software deployments.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple, concurrent releases across various environments, including testing, staging, and production.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Tech Leads, IT Operations, DevOps, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of releases.
  • Lead and facilitate Go/No-Go meetings, identifying and resolving last-minute challenges.
  • Ensure alignment of release activities with organizational goals and release windows.
  • Ensure all releases follow the defined SDLC and Change Management processes.
  • Provide complete and auditable documentation to support internal controls and audit reviews.
  • Participate in CAB (Change Advisory Board) meetings and secure necessary approvals for production releases.
  • Create and maintain release-related documentation, including Release Notes, Implementation Plans, and evidence artifacts.
  • Lead the execution of deployment activities, ensuring minimal risk and downtime.
  • Partner with Engineering and DevOps teams to drive automation and continuous improvement in the release pipeline.
  • Monitor release performance and manage any incidents during the warranty/support period.
  • Support and promote the adoption of Agile practices (Scrum and Kanban) across teams to enhance delivery cadence and operational efficiency.
  • Support cross-functional teams on special projects as assigned.
  • May assist in other departments based on business needs.
