About The Position

As a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead at Sam's Club, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and supervising a team of hourly associates who are responsible for creating and serving meals to our members. Your primary goal will be to enhance the member experience by providing high-quality food options while ensuring operational excellence within the department. You will be expected to model expertise in Prepared Foods and Café, collaborating with other team leaders to meet and exceed member expectations. This position requires a strong focus on team leadership, operational management, and member engagement. In this role, you will supervise the team across various prepared foods departments, including the café, rotisserie, and prepared foods sections. You will facilitate rotations through different areas, manage member needs, and communicate departmental goals effectively. Your responsibilities will include executing company programs, adhering to policies, and advocating for the interests of members, associates, and the company. You will also maintain an in-depth knowledge of both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and overall compliance. As a tech-savvy leader, you will leverage digital tools to enhance sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. You will utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality, while also encouraging your team to adopt new tools and technologies. Your ownership of the business results will be crucial, as you will ensure operational excellence, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and engage with other departments and third-party partners to ensure continuity in operations. Additionally, you will act as a talent ambassador, identifying training needs, developing skills within your team, and encouraging career growth. You will implement processes and practices that meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, and other business partners.
