This role is part of the Ambient Engineering team and reports to the Senior Manager, Automation Engineering. The role is based in Porterville, CA and is expected to travel up to 50% of the time.

Nice To Haves

• Solid engineering talent with excitement for building new approaches to solving automation problems.
• Technical background in Controls Automation, including Robotics, AR, and VR.
• 1 - 3 years of experience in Engineering, construction, and/or automation design.
• Experience in Supply Chain fulfillment or distribution ASRS systems.
• Driven by ambiguity and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Process Flow Design: interpret information to quantify the anticipated outcome of supply chain decisions, including managing suppliers and understanding inbound and outbound logistics.
• Operational Excellence: explain operational functions and key roles, clarify the role of each department, and describe the interdependence of support functions.
• Engineering Economics: describe concepts behind engineering economics, understand cost drivers, and explain how financial data is assessed and used in engineering.
• Project Management: plan and estimate simple projects, produce standard project status reports, and assist in detailed project plans.
• Vendor Management: manage site installation, project budgets, ensure site safety standards, and manage schedules to achieve milestones.
• Continuous Improvement: define critical workflows, identify process problems, and implement Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Automation System Design: promote automation machinery usage, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and monitor actual versus planned outcomes.
• Automation Integration: combine knowledge of automation/system design to resolve integration issues and propose alternatives.
• Mechatronics: create 2D and 3D views, participate in projects modifying existing systems, and design, test, implement, and repair mechanical components.
• Data and Digital Literacy: leverage data analysis tools to explore data and influence strategic work.
• Advanced Analytics: apply data analysis and modeling techniques to maintain data structures and apply computing languages in machine learning.
