About the team: The Lead Technician team in Facility Services, Exterior Services, ensures the effective operation and maintenance of HVACR systems across Walmart locations. Collaborating with management and business partners, the team prioritizes tasks, troubleshoots issues, and implements solutions while maintaining safety and environmental standards. Members apply expertise in equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and resource management to support continuous improvement and operational excellence. Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing and executing scheduled projects with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets, including cost estimates and expense tracking.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and compliance standards.
  • Skilled in sourcing, verifying, and approving materials and equipment for operational needs.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve customer and facility issues effectively.
  • Experience leading third-party providers and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Commitment to maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards in all work performed.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build partnerships and support business objectives.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid, state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification at a minimum of a 90 day card.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), Project Management (PMP), or related certification
  • Third-party management experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage budgets by developing cost estimates for planned projects and approving purchases of parts, materials, and equipment.
  • Plan and prioritize work assignments, ensuring timely completion of projects and maintaining workforce needs.
  • Source, verify, and approve material requisitions while controlling costs through price comparisons and warranty claims.
  • Lead third-party providers by coaching and conducting performance evaluations to ensure quality and safety compliance.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot issues to maintain service standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following established safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs, implement improvements, and support sustainable facility upgrades.
