About The Position
The position oversees the creation and implementation of construction budgets, advising and reviewing pre-construction budgets, and tracking monthly and quarterly budget reports. The role involves working closely with contractors and the estimating department to resolve claims, reviewing and approving contractor payments, change orders, and invoices, and managing project scope and contingency. The individual will provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams on construction projects and new initiatives, offering feedback on new prototypes and design initiatives, and ensuring that team members are informed about changing or non-prototypical applications of construction guidelines. Staying up-to-date on industry best practices is essential, as is providing feedback and suggestions for improvement. In addition, the position requires overseeing and enforcing compliance with laws and regulations for construction projects. This includes establishing, communicating, and monitoring acceptable standards of performance for contractors, suspending noncompliant work, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement design changes that comply with regulations. The role also involves maintaining certifications, enforcing standards with regulations and company programs, and guiding team members in applying new or changing initiatives. The individual will direct a diverse portfolio of construction projects by collaborating with facility management to establish project scope and schedule, minimizing operational impact. Responsibilities include maintaining and communicating timelines, ensuring project milestones are met, verifying material procurement and deliveries, and monitoring contractor work to ensure construction quality aligns with design specifications. The role also involves analyzing business objectives and customer needs, developing and implementing business strategies, and promoting a customer-focused environment. Furthermore, the position entails developing strategies to attract and maintain a skilled workforce, supporting mentorship and workforce development, and fostering an environment of integrity and ethics. The individual will also cultivate internal and external partnerships to maximize business goals and lead community outreach initiatives. The role emphasizes the importance of modeling company values, demonstrating servant leadership, embracing change, and delivering results for customers while focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
