About The Position

Join Walmart's AI Revolution in Last-Mile Delivery. In Walmart's Last-Mile Delivery team, we're building intelligent systems that combine real-time data, AI agents, and scalable platforms to power our delivery infrastructure. Spark Driver—our largest last-mile network—now spans all 50 states, reaches over 94% of U.S. households, and plays a pivotal role in Walmart's eCommerce growth by enabling fast, flexible, and cost-effective fulfillment. We are seeking a visionary Director of Driver Search, Arrival and Matching to lead the development of scalable, AI-powered systems for driver search, arrival and matching automation. You'll oversee a cross-functional team focused on optimizing every step of the Spark delivery funnel—from offer creation to fulfillment—directly impacting speed, cost, and driver experience at scale.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building platforms or systems in technology-driven organizations.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to drive decision-making.
• Clear, structured communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders at multiple levels across technical and business functions.

Nice To Haves

• 10+ years of platform or marketplace leadership in logistics, mobility, or gig economy.
• Proven experience in personalization, ETA prediction, real-time matching, or search/relevance systems.
• Hands-on experience in applying ML, reinforcement learning, or agentic AI in production environments.
• Strategic thinker with strong cross-functional influence across technical and operational orgs.
• Demonstrated ability to hire and scale high-performing, outcome-driven teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap for core platform capabilities—driver search, arrival staggering and driver-trip matching.
• Lead a cross-functional team of operators, product managers, data scientists, and engineers.
• Build frameworks that improve delivery speed, acceptance rates, and marketplace efficiency.
• Leverage real-time signals (driver behavior, location, route density) to inform offer logic and pricing.
• Collaborate with other leaders in AI, Driver Experience, and Store Operations to drive alignment and execution.
• Set KPIs and ensure accountability for outcomes that move the needle on cost, speed, and experience.
