Assists other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment by performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment such as lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, and electronic and electrical equipment according to company policies and procedures. Operates material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment. Diagnoses refrigeration and electrical problems by utilizing technical drawings, such as blueprints and electronic/mechanical schematics, and diagnostic tools like multimeters and laptops. Troubleshoots and repairs complex ammonia refrigeration system problems with equipment logic controls and external Input/Output (IO) devices where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious. Operates refrigeration system equipment, including compressors and fan units. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration system equipment by following original equipment manufacturer instructions and standard operating procedures. Cleans or prevents issues pertaining to hazardous materials as a member of the HazMat team. Monitors work areas for safety concerns according to written procedures and takes appropriate action as needed. Completes work orders, records logs, and other written or computer-based documents utilizing established procedures. Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools, determining customer needs and business priorities, coordinating and executing work assignments, providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved, and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges. Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners, analyzing and applying information from multiple sources, monitoring progress and results, and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities. Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices, implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.

  • 1 year's experience in industrial refrigeration.
  • 2 years' experience in HVAC.
  • 2 years' experience with wastewater treatment plants.
  • 2 years' experience in industrial maintenance.
  • RETA Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO).
  • Willingness to obtain the RETA CARO certification within 30 months of job entry date.
