About the Team: Cyberhawk has delivered significant transmission, distribution, and renewable inspection programs across the United States, primarily focused on drone data capture and digital delivery through iHawk. As the US market matures and customer expectations expand, there is an increasing demand for inspection analysis and reporting delivered directly by Cyberhawk. To support this shift, we are strengthening in-region technical capability. The US Technical Lead will serve as the primary authority for inspection reporting in the United States, ensuring high-quality, technically sound, and commercially aligned delivery across enterprise utility clients. This role bridges US Operations, UK Engineering, outsourced inspection partners, and the US Sales team. Requirements

  • Deep expertise in inspection reporting and defect interpretation.
  • Strong understanding of drone-based data collection techniques.
  • Proven proficiency in learning new software and inspection reporting tools.
  • Experience leading inspection/engineering workflows and ensuring QC rigor.
  • Experience mentoring or managing inspectors.
  • Ability to present technical information clearly to enterprise utility clients.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to support proposal development.
  • Experience scaling an engineering/inspection function.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the US with fluency in English.
  • Passport recommended to be able to visit our headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland, for training purposes.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
  • Be able to access the Denver, CO office on a regular basis.
  • Occasional travel when needed to support project teams.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check, motor vehicle check, and reference check during the onboarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Authority & Quality Ownership Define and maintain US inspection standards. Ensure consistency in defect classification, reporting methodology, and interpretation. Approve final inspection deliverables for major US utility clients. Own QC and technical approval workflows across all US reporting. Act as escalation point for complex inspection interpretation issues. Drive reduction in reporting rework and client comment cycles.
  • US T&D Reporting Delivery Oversight Oversee execution of inspection reporting across: US-based inspectors UK Engineering team Outsourced inspection partners as necessary Ensure reporting is technically accurate, on time, and aligned with client requirements. Lead delivery through: iHawk Third-party and client platforms (including PG&E systems) Ensure efficient capture-to-report workflows maximizing profitability.
  • Department Leadership & Team Development Lead and manage US-based inspectors and applicable subcontractors, focusing on development, progression, and performance. Establish and run regular meetings to ensure alignment, quality control, and continuous improvement. Ensure project-specific technical requirements are clearly communicated to inspectors and to operations teams during premobilization. Lead recruitment and structured onboarding of US-based inspectors. Provide structured training and knowledge transfer to build long-term US inspection capability.
  • Field Data & Workflow Integration Define shot sheets and data capture standards for field teams. Support field operations to ensure correct inspection data is captured for inspection analysis. Define and communicate required data formatting and upload standards for efficient reporting workflow. Identify systemic process improvements across the capture-to-report lifecycle.
  • Customer-Facing Technical Leadership Serve as senior inspection representative in US client discussions. Present inspection findings and methodologies clearly and professionally. Advise customers on inspection best practices and reporting improvements. Partner with Project Managers to ensure technical deliverables, timelines, and client responsibilities are clearly understood and executed.
  • Sales & Commercial Partnership Collaborate with US Sales to: Define technical scopes Clarify Cyberhawk capabilities and limitations Support pricing assumptions tied to inspection complexity Contribute technical sections of proposals and tenders Support business development efforts within the US inspection market.
  • Performance & Leadership Reporting Provide Director of US Operations with regular updates on: Inspection delivery performance Capacity planning Technical risks Process improvement initiatives Support identification of scope expansion and technical upsell opportunities.
