About The Position

Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in NW Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD, is seeking robotics team assistant coaches supporting grades 9-12. This position provides support and supervision of students during weekend robotics team meetings and competitions. Successful candidates will possess at least a high school diploma and prior experience working with children; bachelor's level course work is a plus. Additional qualifications include strong technology skills, organization and communication skills, flexibility, patience, sense of humor, and a demonstrated love for working with students. Robotics and/or Engineering experience is a plus but not a requirement. Our Robotics team participates in the FIRST FTC and MATE ROV competitions.

Requirements

• At least a high school diploma.
• Prior experience working with children.
• Strong technology skills.
• Organization and communication skills.
• Flexibility and patience.
• Sense of humor.
• Demonstrated love for working with students.
• Current CPR/AED certification (or willingness to complete upon hire).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's level course work.
• Robotics and/or Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and supervise students during weekend robotics team meetings and competitions.
• Chaperone weekend competitions at the end of each season.

Benefits

• Hourly Rate $18.00-$23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
