EMR recycles ten million tons of material annually, everything from beverage cans to aircraft carriers. We work with a wide variety of metals including copper, aluminum, brass, and stainless steel and can recycle it into more than 200 different types of new sustainable raw materials. The Materials Control Coordinator manages the flow, storage, and tracking of materials to support operations, involving ordering, shipping and receiving, inventory audits, and coordinating with departments/vendors to ensure timely availability. This role requires strong organization, communication, and software skills to maintain accurate records and smooth production.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Background in supply chain, logistics, or inventory control.
  • Familiarity with CMMS or inventory software (e.g., SAP, Maximo, MaintainX).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical diploma preferred.
  • Background/knowledge of 5S practices a plus.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (certification a plus).
  • Knowledge of mechanical/electrical parts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient storeroom environment.
  • Label and store parts in a systematic and accessible manner.
  • Track incoming and outgoing parts, tools, and materials.
  • Continue implementing 5S lean organization system in storage locations.
  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians to ensure required parts are available for scheduled and emergency repairs.
  • Support maintenance planning by preparing kits or pulling parts for upcoming jobs.
  • Assist in updating maintenance records and work orders.
  • May assist with coordinating contractor services and monitor on-site vendor activities.
  • Occasional travel to pick up parts, tools, materials.
  • Coordinate materials with depot managers.
  • Liaise with purchasing to order and expedite spare parts from vendors and suppliers.
  • Verify deliveries, inspect incoming parts for quality, and ensure proper documentation.
  • New inventory item setup and storage location defined in CMMS with QR scan able shelf labels.
  • Assist in adding and monitoring spare parts inventory and coordinating with the storeroom, assist in cycle counts and auditing.
  • Requisition tools, materials, and replacement parts as needed.
  • Ensure critical spares are available to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, receipts, and work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
