Lead the company’s immigration compliance and governance framework following the deconsolidation from the parent company. This role ensures that the organization maintains full compliance with US immigration laws and regulations. The manager will establish in-house immigration advisory services, previously provided by the parent company’s shared service centers, and act as the primary liaison with government agencies, external counsel, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in US immigration law, preferably within a corporate or law firm setting.
  • Extensive experience in U.S. immigration compliance, preferably within large multinational organizations or divestiture environments.
  • Deep understanding of USCIS, DOL, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven expertise in employment-based immigration (nonimmigrant and immigrant categories).
  • Strong knowledge of US immigration regulations, compliance frameworks, and government processes.
  • Experience managing large-scale immigration programs for multinational corporations.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, high‑risk compliance projects with strict timelines.
  • Strong stakeholder‑management skills, including communication with executives, employees, and external counsel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive employee situations with clarity and empathy.
  • Exceptional project management, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Standalone U.S. Immigration Compliance Project: Define governance, timelines, deliverables, and risk‑mitigation strategies specific to U.S. immigration compliance; ensure all legal responsibilities, filings, and compliance obligations transition appropriately to Siemens Healthineers as the new employer entity.
  • Oversee mandatory legal and compliance actions in close collaboration with legal counsel and external immigration providers and law firms.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee immigration policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Lead the timely engagement of external U.S. immigration counsel to define strategy, confirm filing requirements, and establish timelines and pricing.
  • Maintain continuous alignment with Siemens GMR’s U.S. Immigration Team and external counsel to ensure compliance and business continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with US immigration laws, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), USCIS, and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and advise leadership on implications for workforce planning.
  • Provide legal guidance on visa categories (H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, E, etc.), permanent residency, and work authorization to International Mobile Workforce.
  • Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Global Mobility teams to align immigration processes with business needs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for government agencies and external immigration law firms.
  • Train HR and business leaders on immigration compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Prepare reports for senior leadership on immigration trends, risks, and compliance metrics.
  • Develop contingency plans for regulatory changes or geopolitical shifts affecting immigration.
  • Drive employee and business communications and change management - develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy to support impacted employees.
