About The Position

Through our DRiV, Performance Solutions, Clean Air and Powertrain business groups, Tenneco is driving advancements in global mobility by delivering technology solutions for light vehicle, commercial truck, off highway, industrial, motorsport, and the aftermarket. The US Compliance and Benefits Specialist position is responsible for providing support for the U.S -based DRiV compliance processes by coordinating requirement documentation, monitoring deadlines, partnering with internal stakeholders, and maintaining audit-ready records across assigned compliance domains. This position will also support the administration of employee health and welfare plans, retirement plans, wellbeing programs, and other ancillary programs for our DRiV business. The position is based in Skokie, IL, and reports directly to Executive Director, Total Rewards DRiV and dotted line to the Senior Manager, Benefit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of employee benefits program (health, retirement, disability, leave) or HR experience to include a combination of working at a plant site, maintaining US HR Compliance efforts, and proficiency using HR systems.
  • At least 3 years’ experience of change management to include proven success in driving adoption of new processes, programs, or systems.
  • Experience in creating and delivering communications and training to various levels within an organization.
  • High integrity and discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in management of US HR Compliance vendor partners.
  • Train key users on US HR Compliance process, systems, etc. as well as promote training opportunities with vendor partners.
  • Partner with sites to troubleshoot data and systems issues in compliance systems.
  • Develop communications and training materials and partner with Global Compliance to facilitate US required trainings.
  • Educate sites on annual US HR compliance audit requirements: data, posters, training, documentation, etc.
  • Maintain US HR Compliance portal and process documentation.
  • Vendor/partner governance: coordinate compliance-related deliverables with vendors or third parties (where applicable) and track completion.
  • Compliance risk tracking: log issues, exceptions, and remediation actions; escalate risks and missed deadlines promptly.
  • Support day-to-day administration of U.S. benefit programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, retirement plans).
  • Coordinate employee benefit inquiries and issue resolution, escalating complex cases as needed.
  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to support enrollments, eligibility, and data integrity.
  • Support annual cycles (e.g., open enrollment) including testing, communications coordination, and post-enrollment clean-up.
