About The Position

The US Grind Operator position is a critical role within the Operations function, located in Columbus West, working the 3rd shift from midnight to 8:00 am with a 13.5% shift differential. This role involves operating designated machines, maintaining machine runtime, and performing mechanical repairs while ensuring compliance with BD's quality systems and safety regulations. Regular attendance is essential, and candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English. The position emphasizes teamwork and the ability to uphold BD's values.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED preferred; or five years manufacturing experience in lieu of diploma/GED.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively independently or in a team atmosphere.
• Willingness and ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Achieve production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment.
• Use 10x microscopes, calipers, and other gauges as required.
• Enter SAP data entries when necessary.
• Perform line clearances and changeovers, adjust overall and point length, reset lid and base cycles, and replace various components.
• Help maintain inventory of spare parts and prepare for upcoming work on the lines.
• Troubleshoot machines and identify methods to increase efficiency.
• Ensure the quality of all products produced and perform designated quality checks.
• Maintain assigned equipment in working order and process SAP and MES transactions for the department.
• Assist in the BDA process to identify root causes.
• Perform duties in accordance with GMP principles.
• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
