About The Position

The purpose of this position is to develop relationships and implement a strategy with existing and potential donors to increase financial support and resources, engage current constituents, and cultivate potential donors in support of the ministry. This is a full-time position at 36 hours a week, offering a hybrid work schedule, an attractive benefits package including retirement fund contribution, and three weeks of vacation. Requirements

  • Able to support the mission, vision, and values of the CRCNA.
  • Demonstrated ability to encourage and inspire individuals to support ministry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated, work independently with minimal direction, and collaborate within a team environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and external contacts.
  • Proven ability to plan and organize tasks and responsibilities, including multitasking, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in commonly used computer applications, internet research, and constituent relationship management tools.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as marketing, communications, or non-profit management, is required or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic experience in donor relations or advancement, with a proven track record in fundraising, is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop stewardship-focused relationships with a portfolio of individuals, businesses, churches, donors, and foundations to engage support for the ministry.
  • Develop and implement donor strategies for assigned regions to advance fundraising goals and the ministry's long-term sustainability.
  • Strengthen and expand financial support, including major gifts, through intentional, long-term donor engagement with assigned individuals, churches, and foundations.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with donors so planned giving commitments to the agency increase annually.
  • Travel regularly within assigned regions for in-person visits, classis meetings, relationship building, donor appreciation, and fundraising events.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor interactions in databases to support the development of donor relationships.
  • Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to strengthen strategies and share insights.
  • Contribute to prospect research, proposal development, and strategic planning efforts that advance fundraising priorities.
  • Regularly thank supporters and churches of the CRCNA and invite them to stay engaged with the ministry, including joining in prayer.
  • Track expenses and maintain regular expense reports.
  • Stay current with the best practices of professional fundraising.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
