About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing and managing U.S. import operations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and supporting global trade activities. You will work closely with customs brokers and internal teams to facilitate accurate and timely customs declarations, classify products, and maintain adherence to regulatory requirements. The position involves monitoring broker performance, implementing process improvements, and staying current on changes to U.S. and Canadian import rules. You will also support trade compliance audits, documentation, and reporting. This is a detail-oriented and collaborative role that impacts the efficiency and compliance of cross-border supply chains while contributing to the company’s operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with U.S. import regimes and customs compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of USCBP Title 19 Customs Duties, U.S. HTS, Section 232 rules, and antidumping/countervailing duties.
  • Familiarity with Canada CARM and CBSA requirements.
  • Experience with customs brokers, including improving entry quality and maintaining compliance documentation.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and USCBP ACE Portal; experience automating processes is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with classification of telecommunication equipment or parts is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily U.S. customs brokerage activities in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
  • Assign and review HTS classifications, ensuring accurate product categorization for import compliance.
  • Conduct self-assessments and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance standards.
  • Govern and monitor broker performance, identify gaps, and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving customs regulations, trade laws, and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Section 232, antidumping/countervailing duties, and Partner Government Agency (PGA) rules.
  • Support import activities in Canada, including CARM application and CBSA compliance.
  • Maintain and manage trade programs using U.S. Customs ACE Portal and related systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to support global trade operations.
