The urology technician is an individual who, through didactic and supervised practice, has acquired the knowledge and developed the skills necessary for providing urinary catheterizations, urinary drainage tube irrigations, ultrasonic bladder scanning, and reinforcement of home-going education related to self-catheterization or urinary drainage tube irrigations. The urology technician is responsible for responding to calls in the inpatient and ambulatory setting at both the St. Marys campus and downtown/Methodist campus. Individuals push a mobile supply cart from call to call. Just as our reputation has spread beyond our Minnesota roots, so have our locations. Requirements

  • This is a Female team member position.
  • High school diploma or successful completion of GED.
  • Previous health care education or experience.
  • If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital medical background preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable fluctuations in workload volume.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
