Department: CC017765 BCCC Urology HOD Job Description Summary: The first position specific traits has been revised to change from cancer specific research initiatives to generic research initiatives. Position Specific Traits 1. Serve as a project lead to oversee the execution of existing and future research initiatives – this involves meeting milestones and deliverables, troubleshooting, working with physician lead, physician extenders, other research staff and sponsors, etc.

Requirements

  • BA, BS, or equivalent degree required.
  • Experience conducting research within a clinical or preclinical setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in progress preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a project lead to oversee execution of an existing low grade ovarian cancer program – this involves meeting milestones and deliverables, troubleshooting, working with physician lead, physician extentders, other research staff and sponsors, etc.
  • Establish an IRB-approved registry to best track patients participating in clinical trials and research initiatives.
  • Serve as the author of high quality manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed scientific journals (goal is 1 first-author submissions per year) using available resources.
  • Assist in manuscript preparation and abstract presentation that will be presented at national and international meetings from current initiatives and clinical trial findings.
  • Help develop concepts into protocols to formulate best practice implementations.
  • Establish an educational outreach platform working with local health care providers and community organizations to increase awareness about the research initiatives and clinical trial studies currently available.
  • Participate in tumor boards, travel/attend relevant conferences, and attend research meetings and service line meetings as directed by physician lead.
  • Assist general research operations in the lab, which includes miscellaneous scientific, administrative, and educational activities.
