Urology Physician
About The Position
CICONIX is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Urology Physician to support the Fargo VA Health Care System at the Fargo VA Medical Center. Responsible for evaluating and treating patients in a Urological outpatient clinic daily, seeing patients on consultation and coordinating referral of consultants when necessary. Make in patient rounds for Urological patients. Provide basic general urological care. Perform cystoscopies, vasectomies, scrotal surgeries, ureteroscopies, transurethral surgeries for prostate disease and bladder cancer. Perform major urological procedures involving: Kidney, bladder, prostate, ureter, urethra, testes, scrotum, epididymis, and spermatic cord Utilize advanced urology technologies including: Holmium laser Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) Fluoroscopy Document all care in the VA electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with VA policy. Communicate test results to patients and providers within VA-mandated timelines. Participate in Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement (QA/QI) activities and peer reviews. Comply with all VA patient safety, privacy, infection control, and clinical practice standards.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree
- Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property
- Must have successful completion of an approved residency program in Urology during which 3 years were devoted to Urological surgery.
- Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU).
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.
- U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements, reflected of CDC guidelines.
- Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
- Ability to work onsite daily at the Fargo VA Medical Center.
Nice To Haves
- A North Dakota license is preferred but not required.
- Robotics certified is preferred but not required.
