The position is for a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) at South Shore Health, specifically in the SMC Urology department located at 780 Main Street, Weymouth, MA. The role involves managing individualized, outcome-oriented nursing care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, providing care, and coordinating care across the continuum. The RN will interface directly with physicians, care managers, healthcare teams, patients, and their caregivers to achieve desired patient outcomes. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with a commitment to coaching patients on health-promoting behaviors. The RN will participate in quality improvement efforts and research related to patient care management.

  • Administer and document medications following SSH policies and procedures.
  • Develop, evaluate, and update individualized plans for patients and document outcomes.
  • Initiate patient outreach and document patient/family/significant other needs.
  • Communicate and collaborate with health team members to facilitate care.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, including patient identification and hand hygiene.
  • Assume responsibility for professional development and stay informed about changes in policy and procedure.
  • Utilize technological solutions to enhance work processes.
  • Safeguard the privacy and security of patient information.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Previous Ambulatory Care RN experience preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ambulatory care nursing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of health system and community resources preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Earn between $35.01 - $50.00 per hour.
