Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or PA degree from an accredited program
  • Active and valid state medical license
  • DEA/DPS license
  • Urology experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete evaluations on patients of all ages
  • Order and interpret lab work, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
  • Establish working diagnoses and develop treatment plans in collaboration with urologists
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and provide appropriate follow-up care
  • Refer to the supervising urologist or specialists as needed
  • See new and follow-up patients and provide problem-oriented intervention for their urological conditions
  • Assist in care, treatment, and follow-up as needed
  • Perform and/or assist in-office procedures, including transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) volume studies, cystoscopies, post-void residual (PVRs) evaluations, difficult catheterizations, post-op voiding trials, and other necessary procedures
  • Order and interpret lab, x-ray, special studies, and clinical procedures, and provide appropriate care and follow-up
  • Provide phone/video consultation for patient complaints and prescription refills
  • Perform on-call duties for urology
  • Evaluate, screen, and counsel patients on health maintenance and promote utilization of community resources
