About The Position

The Urology Clinic Manager is responsible for the daily operations, coordination, and oversight of all urology clinic services. This includes ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining clinical quality, supporting urology providers, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards. The Manager ensures the delivery of safe, timely, and patient centered urologic care while meeting productivity, financial, and operational goals. This role requires specialized understanding of urologic procedures, diagnostics, workflows, and patient needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing (RN or LPN)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting; urology or specialty clinic experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
  • CPR required (may obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • RN or LPN licensure required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the urology clinic, including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, room utilization, and coordination of urologic procedures.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between providers, staff, and hospital leadership.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of clinic policies and procedures; lead revisions when needed.
  • Promote a professional and collaborative work environment consistent with the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital standards, state/federal regulations, and accreditation requirements.
  • Support urologists and advanced practice providers with patient care needs including:
  • Pre and post procedure patient coordination
  • Catheter insertions/removals, bladder scans, uroflowmetry, and other urology related tasks
  • Assisting with in clinic procedures (e.g., vasectomies, cystoscopies, urodynamic testing)
  • Processing medication refills, prior authorizations, and specialty medications
  • Ensure equipment used in urology (scopes, sterilized instruments, bladder scanners, etc.) is maintained, cleaned, stocked, and functioning.
  • Ensure staff are trained and competent in specialty-specific tasks including sterile technique and handling of urologic instruments.
  • Recruit, hire, orient, and supervise clinic staff including nurses, medical assistants, schedulers, and support staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.
  • Ensure staff competency assessments and annual education are completed.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and professional communication.
  • Promote a patient centered culture with sensitivity to the needs of urology patients (e.g., privacy concerns, chronic conditions, sensitive diagnoses).
  • Monitor patient satisfaction and implement improvements to enhance the patient experience.
  • Address patient complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure staff demonstrate excellent communication and service behaviors.
  • Oversee adherence to infection prevention, safety protocols, and incident reporting.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to urologic care (e.g., reducing catheter associated infections, procedure wait times, cancellations).
  • Maintain required clinical documentation, logs, and compliance records.
  • Manage clinic budgets, productivity goals, and resource use.
  • Maintain adequate supplies, medications, and equipment for all urology services.
  • Support accurate coding, billing, and documentation processes specific to urology procedures.
  • Implement cost containment initiatives when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with providers, departments, and leadership to support coordinated, efficient patient care.
  • Communicate operational updates, changes, and expectations clearly to staff.
  • Lead monthly staff meetings and share relevant updates.
  • Participate in committees, special projects, and organizational initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist in marketing or community outreach related to urology services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends and advancements in urology and ambulatory care.
  • Assist with development of workflows for new services, equipment, or procedures.
