About The Position

The Community Planner position at Planate Management Group involves supporting the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Europe, Africa, Central (NAVFAC EURAFCENT) with space planning, facility optimization, and program support services for Public Works Department (PWD) Bahrain and related efforts in Bahrain and UAE. This role requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders and technical expertise to deliver impactful recommendations for optimizing facility use.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility planning, space optimization, or program support services.
  • Must be a Registered Architect (RA) or a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Has an active or interim secret clearance.
  • Proficiency in tools like CAD, GIS platforms, and data analysis software.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with government and contractor teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support projects in the UAE.
  • Knowledge of NAVFAC systems, processes, and standards is preferred.
  • Must be willing to be deployed in Bahrain.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to assess facility conditions and recommend relocations or adjustments to improve space utilization.
  • Develop Basic Facility Requirements (BFR) and perform gap analyses for optimal facility use.
  • Prepare space optimization plans, including cost estimates and phased implementation strategies.
  • Review iNFADS (facility database) for accuracy and recommend updates.
  • Analyze facility energy and condition data to identify upgrades, retention, or demolition needs.
  • Document findings through detailed reports, asset evaluations, and space utilization assessments.
  • Collaborate with tenant commands, contractors, and Public Works teams to identify current and future facility needs.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and progress reviews to develop solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Update architectural floor plans using tools like CAD, GIS, or designated software.
  • Prepare space approval letters and related documentation for command endorsement.
  • Assist in planning studies, DD Form 1391 development, and real estate leasing actions.
  • Submit weekly project status updates and monthly summary reports.
