About The Position

Community Pet Healthcare is seeking a motivated, hands-on Experienced Urgent Care Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You’ll be part of a dedicated team focused solely on providing timely, compassionate urgent care to pets and their families.

Requirements

• Prior veterinary assistant experience required
• Proficiency in drawing blood and placing catheters
• Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Flexibility and initiative in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Team-first mindset and a passion for urgent care medicine
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of veterinary experience, with ER or high volume experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Triage and patient intake for urgent cases
• Patient handling and safe restraint
• Assisting with in-house diagnostics and treatments
• Supporting urgent care exams and procedures
• Providing compassionate communication and support to clients during stressful situations
• Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of Mission Pet Health and Mission Vet Urgent Care
• Assist in all daily duties for clinic care
• Participate in any special cleaning duties
• Provide client care by taking payments, and check-ins
• Maintain excellent client communication
• Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in the patient record accurately
• Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients
• Answer the phones in a courteous and informative way
• Provide patient care under the direction of a DVM
• Perform clinic upkeep as directed
• Perform equipment maintenance as directed
• Perform other related duties as assigned
