About The Position

The position involves participating as a frontline caregiver to patients in an Urgent Care setting. The role requires providing direct patient care and collecting essential physical, psychological, and social patient data under the direction of a Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting in various direct patient care tasks according to the policies and procedures of Urgent Care, which encompass a range of activities from completing intake processes to performing point of care testing and wound care. The caregiver must be familiar with the equipment in the department and maintain an organized environment for patient care.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: Currently licensed as a CNA in MA with at least one year of patient care experience, Currently licensed as an EMT or Paramedic in MA, Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program OR Healthcare Track program with at least 2 clinical rotations, Has 1-3 years of direct patient care experience within an Urgent Care, Physician’s Office, or Healthcare setting
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

  • Participates as a frontline caregiver to patients in Urgent Care
  • Provides direct patient care and collects physical, psychological, and social patient data under the Nurse's direction
  • Assists in direct patient care according to the policy and procedures of Urgent Care
  • Completes intake including vital signs, EKGs, Durable Medical Equipment application, wound care, point of care testing, and ear irrigations
  • Familiarizes with equipment in the department and the location of all items
  • Assesses personal and learning development needs and maintains documentation of professional development activities
  • Orients other UC Techs to the unit as assigned by the manager
  • Performs other work-related tasks and activities as assigned or requested by the manager
  • Assists with cleaning and preparation of exam rooms, including stocking rooms and organizing incoming supplies
  • May assist in patient registration, intake, and answering phone calls at the center
  • Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers
