About The Position

AMI is seeking a dedicated Urgent Care Physician to provide onsite clinical services at the Erie VA Medical Centers Urgent Care Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will deliver timely, high-quality care to U.S. veterans in a fast-paced urgent care setting, supporting a mission that truly makes a difference. Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Ability to obtain VA credentialing and privileging
Strong clinical judgment and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to successfully complete AMIs credentialing process
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending
Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment

Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute medical conditions
Perform triage, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
Stabilize patients and coordinate transfers when higher levels of care are needed
Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR)
Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and test results clearly
Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care guidance
Collaborate with referring providers to ensure continuity of care
Coordinate appropriate follow-up services for patients
Work closely with interdisciplinary care teams in a collaborative environment
Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives
Complete required documentation for performance and quality assurance
Follow patient safety and incident reporting protocols
Utilize appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.
Deliver targeted, culturally appropriate information to help individuals and groups understand health promotion and disease prevention information, policies, regulations, and local code.
