About The Position

AMI is seeking a dedicated Urgent Care Physician to provide onsite clinical services at the Erie VA Medical Centers Urgent Care Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will deliver timely, high-quality care to U.S. veterans in a fast-paced urgent care setting, supporting a mission that truly makes a difference. Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Ability to obtain VA credentialing and privileging
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to successfully complete AMIs credentialing process
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute medical conditions
  • Perform triage, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
  • Stabilize patients and coordinate transfers when higher levels of care are needed
  • Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and test results clearly
  • Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care guidance
  • Collaborate with referring providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Coordinate appropriate follow-up services for patients
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary care teams in a collaborative environment
  • Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives
  • Complete required documentation for performance and quality assurance
  • Follow patient safety and incident reporting protocols
  • Utilize appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.
  • Deliver targeted, culturally appropriate information to help individuals and groups understand health promotion and disease prevention information, policies, regulations, and local code.
