About The Position

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Emergency Medicine seek Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine physician (MD or DO) qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice at Waynesburg, Connellsville, and Morgantown clinics. Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer with more than 3,400 licensed beds, 4,600 providers, 35,000 employees, and $7 billion in total operating revenues. The Health System is comprised of 25 hospitals – including J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, an 880-bed academic medical center, and the 150-bed WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia – and five institutes.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.
  • Successful candidate must have completed an emergency medicine residency program, and/or an emergency medicine fellowship program for internal medical and/or family medicine board certified physicians.
  • Successful candidates must be ABEM board certified, eligible in WV and PA.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
