Urgent Care Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner | Thornton, CO
About The Position
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our team in Thornton, Colorado. This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy variety, autonomy, and collaboration in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Colorado license (PA or NP)
- Board certification as applicable: PA: NCCPA certification NP: ANCC or AANP certification (FNP required)
- Active DEA (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to treat all age groups (infant through geriatric)
- Active BLS certification
- EHR proficiency
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
- DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered)
Nice To Haves
- Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
- Strong procedural skills (ex: suturing, splinting, wound care)
- Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
- Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
- Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management (as applicable)
- Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
- Code and bill services appropriately
- Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
- Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
