Position Summary The organization is seeking a skilled and compassionate Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its full-time urgent care team in Bronx, NY . This is a full-time, fast-paced, outpatient-focused role within a collaborative clinical environment. The Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries, ensuring timely, high-quality care across all age groups. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (MSN or DNP)
  • Active or eligible New York State Nurse Practitioner license
  • National certification required (FNP or AGNP preferred)
  • Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or acute care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries
  • Perform physical examinations and obtain detailed medical histories
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and point-of-care testing
  • Perform minor procedures such as wound care, suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage (as trained)
  • Prescribe medications and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, follow-up care, and preventive measures
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols
