Bonus: Monthly ( based on volumes ) & Quarterly ( based on patient satisfaction and quality metrics ) upon graduation from training program Shift Differentials apply in addition for evening and weekends Job Summary Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.

Requirements

  • Education Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
  • Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
  • Work Experience Emergency or Urgent Care experience preferred
  • Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred
  • Required Licenses/Certifications to start National Certification
  • Active state medical licensure
  • Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting
  • Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Examining and treating patients
  • Taking patients’ medical histories
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
  • Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
  • Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
  • Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
  • Educating and counseling patients
  • Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
  • Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
  • Each provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care
  • Each provider will be scheduled within the market geography for the duration of the 12 month training . Home location assignment after training is subject to the staffing needs of our centers as well as the nearest location with your preferences in mind .
