Sign on bonus up to $15,000 for external candidates Market-leading compensation and benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k matching Paid CME time off plus CME budget, reimbursed professional licenses and dues Enhanced Tuition Assistance Employee assistance and wellness programs including a strong focus on promoting mental health Generous Paid time off Discounts on services, products and optional coverages – movie tickets, pet insurance, travel and more Bonus: Monthly ( based on volumes ) & Quarterly ( based on patient satisfaction and quality metrics ) Shift Differentials apply in addition for evening and weekends Job Summary Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.
Requirements
- Education Bachelor's Degree for Physician Assistants Master's Degree for Nurse Practitioners
- Work Experience One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience . Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.
- Required Licenses/Certifications National Certification Active state medical licensure
- Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred
- Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.
- Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays
- Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Responsibilities
- Examining and treating patients
- Taking patients’ medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Educating and counseling patients
- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
- Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
- Each provider will work an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care
