About The Position

Urgent Care Pros is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team in a dynamic and supportive work environment. The role involves both front and back office responsibilities, providing excellent patient care, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The position offers flexible scheduling with opportunities for three days off per week, and training will be conducted at both the Lakewood and Cypress locations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification required.
• 1 year of urgent care experience preferred.
• Vital signs and laboratory experience.
• Computer skills for data entry and patient management.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in urgent care settings is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of insurance plans.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly upon arrival.
• Check patients in and enter insurance information.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Take patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Perform phlebotomy and manage laboratory paperwork.
• Dispense medication as directed.
• Instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions.
• Handle telephone calls from clients and patients.
