In this role, you will learn the fundamentals of radiologic technology and gain valuable clinical experience providing compassionate patient care to patients in our MedCheck Urgent Care facilities.A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is available. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Limited X-ray Machine Operator program accredited by a recognized agency
  • Certification/Licensure by ARRT Limited X-ray Machine Operator
  • Maintain BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, radiographic procedures, and patient care
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • Complete online training Hampshire Limited X-Ray Training Courses - Control The Dose. In general, this takes 8-16 weeks to complete and the hands-on experience and competency-based skills that are supervised by a radiology tech, physician or chiropractor. This will include course certification and test prep. Recognizing that all staff learn at different rates and in keeping with the programs guidelines the expectation would be course completion and testing to be completed within 6 months of starting.
  • Upon completion of the program the applicant will take and pass the NH state AART Limited Scope examination.
  • 2-Year Commitment: The LXMO represents a significant financial commitment on the part of Speare Memorial Hospital. Trainees who are selected to participate in the LXMO training program will be asked to sign a commitment to stay with the organization for at least two full years following completion of the program.
  • Employees who terminate their employment before the end of the two-year commitment will reimburse a pro-rated cost of the Control the Dose Program and any cost associated with the program content (books, testing fees etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Use imaging modalities for limited x-ray diagnostic procedures of the upper and lower extremities: femur including hip view, and chest including ribs
  • Correctly identify each patient and review patient requisitions to ensure accurate examinations are ordered
  • Assess and monitor patient condition, moving, assisting, and immobilizing patients as needed to ensure patient safety, comfort, and modesty
  • Use proper shielding and radiation protection in accordance with departmental Radiation Protection program
  • Perform quality control testing and documentation for equipment as required
  • Report equipment failures to supervisor and annotate problems on the equipment log
  • Use computer system to document patient information correctly and accurately
  • Assist Urgent Care providers, performing all routine clerical and clinical support functions - including point of care testing
