About The Position

The Urgent Care Clinician will work in a community behavioral health setting, providing services for children, adults and families who are in crisis and experiencing a mental health and/or substance use disorder. Services will include provision of comprehensive assessments for mental health, substance use and co-occurring presentations, development of treatment plans that best ensures for safety and optimizes the effective resolution of the crisis, referrals to community support services and psychoeducation, as well coordination of acute treatment services, as needed, utilizing evidence-based practices. The Urgent Care Clinician will work with the Clinic Director within the Outpatient Clinic’s team model, establishing open communication, support, and accountability among workers and consumers. The Urgent Care Clinician will be required to provide services during evenings throughout the week and on Saturdays, on-site and in-person, at the Outpatient Clinic.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a behavioral health field is required.

  • Full-time (40 hours), Required availability Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM–7:00 PM and 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM. (Remaining hours are flexible)

Nice To Haves

  • Professionally licensed or license eligible clinician, from the state of Massachusetts (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, etc.), is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, treatment planning, and consultation for pre-crisis and crisis plans, behavioral guidelines, risk assessments, positive behavior plans, medication treatment plans, and related interventions.
  • De-escalate crises to ensure safety and provide optimal care and welfare for individuals in crisis.
  • Assess needs and implement interventions according to best practice standards for emergency care, crisis resolution, and recovery.
  • Complete all required documentation timely and in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Utilize evidence-based screening tools and collaborate with teams to develop and implement positive behavior support plans.
  • Serve as a liaison with service systems, state agencies, and community partners; establish and maintain relationships to support programs, partnerships, and funding opportunities.
  • Actively participate in licensing, accreditation, and professional development activities, including conferences, statewide meetings, task forces, and committees.
  • Promote and integrate agency mission, values, and principles, and perform other duties as assigned by the Clinic Director.
