POSITION OVERVIEW The Urban Forestry Administrative Coordinator (“Coordinator”) will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to municipalities and CBO sub-awardees participating in GreenLatinos’ Urban and Community Forestry Program. Supporting GreenLatinos’ Justicia y Equidad Fund Manager, and Justicia Y Equidad Fund Director. The Grants Coordinator will process reimbursement requests drawing down $11.5M in funding to pre-selected municipalities in California and Illinois, as well as an additional $8.5M in reserve funding that has been awarded to 12 community-based organizations (CBOs) in California, Illinois, New Mexico, and Puerto Rico seeking to implement urban and community forestry projects. Over the next 3-years of the grant term, the Coordinator will support financial management and reporting aspects of subawards and specifically will review budget spreadsheets and backup documentation. The Coordinator will also assist the Manager and Director in coordinating with sub-awardees for the reimbursements, MOUs, compliance and reporting, records maintenance, and other duties as assigned. The Coordinator will play an integral role in internal coordination between the Justicia Y Equidad Team and other program teams including the Urban Forestry Team, Colorado State Program, Urban Greening Initiative Team, Financial Management Team, and other GreenLatinos Teams. The Coordinator must be a well-organized individual with meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to advancing environmental justice across diverse constituencies (communities of color, foundations, government agencies, and legacy environmental groups). The role requires a methodical and detail-oriented approach to grants coordination and budget reviews. The ideal candidate is self-driven, a team player, and comfortable working remotely. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate their working needs clearly (verbally and in writing) and report accordingly to their supervisors and other staff to ensure success. The ideal candidate understands that it is critical to uphold professional practices as a representative of GreenLatinos and its network during all work-related functions including travel, receptions, and events. The Urban Forestry Administrative Coordinator will report to Justicia y Equidad Fund Manager.
