About The Position

This role resides within the Corporate Care Management department, reporting to the Director of Clinical Data Performance and ultimately to the VP of Corporate Case Management. The position focuses on supporting software implementations, educating staff, driving process improvements, and ensuring data-driven performance optimization in Case Management (CM) and Utilization Review (UR) across facilities. The role is primarily remote with 20-25% travel to facility sites for up to 5 days at a time, which may include weekends or overnight shifts during go-live implementations. The specialist collaborates closely with third-party vendors, CHS Corporate Leadership, CHS IT, Regional Care Managers/Directors, and facility teams to achieve seamless software adoption, workflow refinement, and sustained operational and clinical excellence in alignment with evolving healthcare requirements for efficiency, compliance, quality, and financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support software conversion teams by traveling to facilities for major implementations, assisting CM/UR teams during go-live processes, and providing comprehensive pre-, during-, and post-go-live education and hands-on support.
  • Conduct pre-conversion and post-conversion data collection, on-site assessments, and record audits in the months leading up to and following go-live events to evaluate readiness and adoption.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and facility stakeholders to develop, refine, and optimize workflows for CM/UR software applications.
  • Monitor and access project-related documents, announcements, and resources on platforms such as the Cerner project portal.
  • Develop, deliver, and continuously update educational programs for incumbent and newly hired UR and CM employees on all relevant software products, utilizing online, video, and in-person delivery methods.
  • Train staff on medical necessity review software (e.g., MCG) and conduct annual competency reviews for all relevant employees.
  • Build, assign, and monitor compliance for documentation courses in the CM/UR catalog within the Automated Learning Center (ALC), including generating weekly reports to track due-date adherence.
  • Participate in annual reviews and updates of ALC courses to reflect software changes, best practices, and process improvements.
  • Respond promptly to urgent education and process-improvement requests from Regional Care Managers/Directors regarding software updates and CM/UR operations.
  • Schedule and lead weekly stakeholder and vendor meetings as needed to maintain alignment, resolve issues, and drive project/progress milestones.
  • Attend and actively participate in key software conversion meetings and events, including workshops, current-state reviews, testing sessions, governance calls, coding upgrades, and education planning.
  • Collaborate with Corporate IT to design, develop, and maintain a real-time KPI dashboard that aggregates data from relevant systems, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, user-friendly visualization, and seamless integration with existing CM/UR software tools.
