Midwest Center for Youth and Families is seeking caring and compassionate Behavioral Health Workers to join our clinical teams! Available Hours: PRN Midwest Center for Youth and Families (a subsidiary of UHS) has been in operation since 1997, serving youth across the country that are in need of psychiatric treatment for variety of mental health issues. The Midwest Center is a respected healthcare provider, fully accredited, 74-bed private, residential treatment facility with locations in Valparaiso and Kouts, IN. We are dedicated to care of the hearts and minds of our patients with compassion and superior quality behavioral healthcare services through our full-immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for children and adolescents ages 10 - 18 who struggle with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges. Website: https://midwest-center.com/ The UR Coordinator is responsible for managing the treatment activities offered to the patient, including the appropriate clinical screening of admissions, establishment of treatment plans, interface with the treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations and implementation and supervision of the discharge planning. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health or a Nursing degree is required.
  • A minimum of two years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
  • Experience in patient assessment, family motiviation, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
  • RN, LSW, LCSW license or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Assist potential patients in gaining access to federal and state support systems.
  • Consult with the business office and/or admission staff as needed to clarify data and ensure the insurance precertification process is complete.
  • Provide clinical precertification information to patients, managed care companies, insurance companies and other third party reviewers to establish the length of stay or number of certified days.
  • Coordinate with the insurance company doctor in appeals process and denials process.
