Penn State University Police and Public Safety Department is excited to announce a paid student internship opportunity for interested students for the Fall 2026 semester. We will strive to provide participants hands-on experience covering the whole unit of University Police and Public Safety Department. The Penn State University Police and Public Safety Department is responsible for protecting and serving more than 100,000 students, employees as well as visitors at our campuses located throughout Pennsylvania. We are a cohesive and centralized department with sworn police officers who have full law enforcement authority with our headquarters being located at University Park. We are looking for interested students who want to have an internship experience that allows them a chance to see all facets of a police department in a University setting. Interns will be exposed to our specialist units (K9, Criminal Investigations, Drone, Community Oriented Policing (COP) etc), attend court, see behind the scenes at large University events or sporting events as well as seeing the day to day operations within our station and headquarters. Getting a well-rounded exposure to the teams that support our operations (Training, Records, Emergency Management, Physical Security and Dispatch).
