About The Position

Charlotte Latin has an immediate need for Upper School substitute teachers. Key responsibilities include maintaining a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, teaching the lesson plan as outlined by the absent teacher, and displaying the ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies. The substitute teacher will implement as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school, serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism that includes a positive, respectful manner, and maintain confidentiality of all information concerning students, parents, and members of staff. Additionally, the substitute teacher will leave a written note to the absent teacher summarizing lessons and any related student/parent concerns.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with and supervising children
• College education preferred
• A commitment to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community is essential
• Adheres to the standards of professionalism
• Philosophical alignment with core values, curriculum, and instruction of the school
