About The Position

Blake’s Upper School in Minneapolis is seeking substitute teachers who can build strong rapport with adolescents and help guide their academic and social-emotional growth. A strong candidate also displays reliability, a commitment to intercultural competence and strong written and verbal communication skills. Subs will be expected to adhere to lesson plans and present the absent teacher’s vision to students with fidelity and clarity. Interested applicants should complete the job application. While we will review all applications, subs comfortable teaching STEM, art and/or music and modern languages are particularly encouraged to apply. Working Conditions: Upper School substitute teachers will spend time sitting, standing, teaching and, at times, moving quickly from classroom to classroom. They will also be expected to use a computer and read typed documents.
