About The Position

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Upper School Science Teacher to join our community for the 2026–2027 school year. In this role, you will inspire curiosity and a love of scientific inquiry while helping students develop a strong foundation in AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and junior/senior level science electives. The ideal candidate will support students’ academic growth through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. Working collaboratively with colleagues, the teacher will contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures curiosity, responsibility, and confidence in young learners. The teacher will also communicate regularly with families to support student progress and growth. The job opening is for August 2026

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably at the upper school level
  • Demonstrated strong classroom management and student engagement skills
  • Warm, approachable demeanor with a genuine enjoyment of working with upper school students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of personal responsibility and professionalism
  • Ability to thoughtfully integrate technology into instruction and communication
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding high ethical and professional standards
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets) and basic data management tools such as Excel

Responsibilities

  • Teach four courses
  • Serve as Advisor
  • Actively engage in the extracurricular life of the school as a coach, activity supervisor, or similar duty.
  • Participate in class trips, clubs, and Winterim expeditions to build meaningful relationships with students and support their growth beyond the classroom.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support the mission and daily life of the School
