About The Position

The Pingry School seeks a dynamic and intellectually engaging Upper School Part-Time Math Leave Replacement Teacher to join its diverse community from January 20, 2026, to May 22, 2026. The ideal candidate is committed to guiding young people as they construct their understanding of Math in a student-centered classroom environment. This educator is a collaborator with an appreciation for the teachable moment when moral and ethical questions arise in and out of the classroom. Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
• A rich knowledge of algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, and geometry, combined with a facility in a variety of teaching tools, comfort in designing courses, and fluency in various modes of inquiry.
• Experience teaching Math at the High School level.
• Enthusiasm for working with High School students.
• Fluency with mathematical thinking skills and current discipline-specific pedagogy.
• Dedication to supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students.
• Robust interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Dedication to partnering collaboratively with a team of talented faculty.
• Experience creating, supporting, and sustaining a culture of access and equity in Math.
• Comfortable incorporating the latest technology into your workflow, including Google Classroom, Zoom, and GitHub.
• Skilled in navigating the Google Suite of applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2 sections of - Advanced Algebra & Trigonometry Honors
• Fulfill any additional duties as assigned by the Upper School Director and/or Upper School Math Department Chair.
• Participate in all required meetings, including faculty division meetings, scheduled collaboration times, professional development days, and beginning and end-of-year, where applicable.
• Provide extra Math support for students during flex and community times.
