About The Position

St. Martin’s Episcopal School in Metairie, Louisiana, seeks an experienced and collaborative educational leader to serve as Upper School Division Head. This position is a member of the Head of School’s senior leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of academic and student life for grades 9–12.

The Upper School Division Head provides vision, leadership, and day-to-day oversight of the Upper School, fostering a positive culture grounded in high academic standards, strong relationships, and student-centered practices. The Division Head works closely with the Head of School, the Academic Leadership Team, and other senior administrators to advance the School’s mission and strategic priorities.

Requirements

• Hold an advanced degree in an academic discipline or educational administration
• Be a skilled writer and communicator with a positive outlook and strong work ethic
• Be student-centered, relationship-oriented, and committed to professional growth
• Demonstrate a collaborative leadership style and a desire to be fully engaged in an active school community
• Have successful experience working with students, parents, and faculty
• Show a strong interest in implementing the academic priorities of the School’s strategic plan

Responsibilities

• Establish a clear vision, positive tone, and consistent expectations for the Upper School
• Work effectively with senior leadership, faculty, and staff
• Communicate clearly, responsively, and timely with parents and caregivers
• Supervise, support, and evaluate faculty, with a focus on excellence in teaching, advising, assessment, and communication
• Make final decisions while building trust and consensus
