About The Position

The Mathematics Department at The Episcopal Academy seeks a dynamic and passionate Upper Level Mathematics Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. We are looking for an innovative, student-centered educator with the breadth to teach mathematics across the curriculum, from Algebra I through Multivariable Calculus, but with particular strength and enthusiasm for teaching our most advanced courses. The ideal candidate will be excited to work with high-achieving students in courses such as Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Calculus BC, Calculus-Based Statistics, and Differential Equations. This position includes teaching four courses, serving as a student advisor, and acting as a champion for advanced mathematical study within the school community. The role also includes supporting students beyond the classroom through involvement in math clubs, competition teams, and other extracurricular opportunities that promote curiosity and excellence in mathematics.

Requirements

  • A growth mindset and a deep commitment to creating inclusive, engaging, and challenging learning environments
  • A student-centered approach to teaching, with the ability to support and inspire highly capable and motivated math students
  • Strong content knowledge across the secondary mathematics curriculum, with particular expertise in advanced courses such as Calculus BC, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Calculus-Based Statistics
  • The ability to make complex mathematical ideas accessible, exciting, and meaningful for students
  • Enthusiasm for developing students' mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and intellectual curiosity
  • Interest in promoting advanced topics in mathematics and encouraging students to pursue rigorous mathematical study
  • The ability to mentor and support students through small-group advising
  • Interest in supporting or leading math clubs, competition teams, and other co-curricular opportunities
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to work closely with colleagues on curriculum, assessment, and student support

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Mathematics or a closely related field preferred
  • Classroom teaching experience preferred; equivalent experience or recent, relevant academic study will be considered
