About The Position

The Blake School is seeking an exceptional, dedicated Second Grade Lead teacher to join our highly collaborative Upper Elementary program (grades 2-5) starting in the 2026-27 school year. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree and teaching credential preferred)
  • Minimum five years lead teaching experience working with elementary-age students

Responsibilities

  • Embrace Blake’s mission and values and commitment to pluralism
  • Collaborate with grade-level team and division colleagues to plan and implement an appropriately challenging curriculum in reading/language arts, math, science and social studies
  • Promote academic, social-emotional and physical development of children in individual, small group and whole-class settings
  • Assess students using current strategies and tools to inform instruction and give feedback
  • Complete progress reports and participate in twice-yearly parent-teacher conferences
  • Supervise children during lunch and afternoon carpool
  • Integrate meaningful and appropriate use of technology within the curriculum and as a communication tool
  • Attend Back-to-School Night, admissions open house, faculty workshop days, grade-level and division meetings, relevant all-school events and all mandatory professional development
