About The Position

The Upper East CSU RN Coordinator position at the McNabb Center involves hiring, training, and supervising nursing staff for the Hamblen Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). The role requires the implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques, maintaining a dependable vehicle for Center business, and ensuring compliance with agency standards. The RN Coordinator will provide direct care to clients, assist with crisis interventions, and coordinate discharge planning while engaging with clients and community members in a professional manner. The position requires regular attendance and the ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Associate/Bachelor's degree from an accredited College/University.
  • Experience in psychiatric nursing and acute care preferred.
  • Ability to present professionally and work within a team format.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills required; experience with electronic medical records preferred.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, and supervises nursing staff for Hamblen CSU.
  • Oversees scheduling and monitors training needs.
  • Attends daily treatment teams and participates in the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Orders supplies for the units and is available for 24/7 on-call medical questions.
  • Completes chart reviews and state reports for compliance monitoring.
  • Provides direct care to clients and assists with crisis interventions.
  • Coordinates with team members regarding client discharge planning.
  • Serves as a liaison with other agencies as needed.
