PSE's Generation & Natural Gas Storage team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Upper Baker River Supervisor ERG Operations & Maintenance position! Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process. Job DescriptionResponsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of an individual facility or collective facilities including directing crews and contractors. Responsible to ensure employee and equipment safety, plant reliability and compliance, environmental stewardship, and other regulatory requirements are met. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations. This position will be expected to work 4 days, on site, with a remote option one day weekly. This job is considered “safety sensitive” as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in engineering or electro-mechanical technology, or other related degree; or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
  • 5 years operations experience in utility/power generation/natural gas storage (including engineering, construction/maintenance/repairs, and/or electric/gas utility industry), or equivalent experience in operations/maintenance or engineering in other heavy industrial fields.
  • Experience with specialized operational systems (such as plant controls, maintenance planning/scheduling, major mechanical/electrical systems).
  • Demonstrated skills leading and developing personnel in a collaborative work environment and managing projects.
  • Demonstrated safety leader.
  • Strong teamwork, coaching, and organizational skills and an aptitude for process improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with a wide range of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams.
  • Strong business acumen including the ability to organize/prioritize/evaluate work and within budget constraints.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills including MS Office Suite.
  • Availability to respond to emergencies, such as outages and storm events, on a 24/7 basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related degree.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer.
  • 5 years of increasingly responsible positions in directing field crews or project management.
  • Experience in electric and/or gas utility and storage or independent power sector.
  • Experience with financial management and/or budgeting.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

  • Provides technical front line operational expertise, as well as leveraging technical worker skills to ensure successful resolution to a variety of issues/challenges, and to support the efficient operation of systems and/or equipment.
  • Interfaces with related PSE groups to ensure availability to meet electric or gas supply and demand.
  • Ensures standard operating procedures and emergency actions plans are in place.
  • Ensures maintenance of facilities is in accordance with company procedures/policies and regulations.
  • Oversees planned outages and/or schedules maintenance for equipment and machinery.
  • In collaboration with other management and supervisor team members, assures compliance with environmental and regulatory matters.
  • Responsible for proper management and control of parts and materials inventory.
  • Implements programs and/or participates in special projects including new equipment, monitoring efficiencies, operational process improvements, etc.
  • Negotiates/manages related contracts and service agreements, contractors, billing, change orders, etc. and ensures that contractor provided work is in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Responds to infrastructure and resource emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
  • May prepare annual maintenance and operations budgets, conducts ongoing tracking and reporting to ensure cost control of activities within corporate financial objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
