Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years related experience in upholstery, trim work, soft-goods fabrication, or sewing in related industries
  • Proficiency is cutting, sewing, pattern making, and material assembly
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to producing high-quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, patterns, and written instructions
  • Familiarity with a variety of materials including fabrics, hides, foams, and adhesives
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and work order entry
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to handle tools and materials safely
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces and in noisy environments
  • Ability to occasionally travel for work assignments
  • Ability to maintain a tool inventory in alignment with shop requirements
  • Ability to obtain and retain an airport AOA badge
  • Ability to work overtime and various shifts as business needs require

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, repair, and install aircraft upholstery components, including seats, sidewalls, curtains, carpets, and soft goods.
  • Measure, cut, sew, and assemble materials such as leather, vinyl, foam, and specialty fabrics according to aircraft specifications.
  • Remove and reinstall interior components while ensuring proper fit, finish, and alignment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, patterns, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Perform pattern layout, stitching, trimming, and finishing work with precision and consistency.
  • Inspect materials and finished products for quality, durability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Operate industrial sewing machines, hand tools, and specialty equipment safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and paint teams to meet project schedules.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment in compliance with FAA and company regulations.
  • Document work completed and update job cards, logs, and maintenance records accurately.
